French artist Paul Ranson (1861-1909) founded the “Les Nabis” group of artists who pioneered the abstract art movement in Paris, alongside working with the impressionist artists. He aimed to create revolutionary art for the ever-modernising world in the late 18th century, using bright colours and delicate outlines.

Tigre dans le jungle (Tiger in the Jungle) depicts a tiger, in an attacking position. French artist Paul Ranson created this lithographic print in 1893. It is by far the most famous and iconic print by the artist, featuring Eastern elements of calligraphic lines, contrasting light and dark.
