The National Gallery is an art gallery in Trafalgar Square in Central London. Founded in 1824, it is one of the world’s greatest and oldest art galleries. The gallery houses a collection of over 2,300 paintings dating from the mid-13th century to the early 20th century. As the world’s leading gallery, its collection covers the best paintings and bequests of the great masters, encyclopaedic in scope, including Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Titian, Velázquez, Monet and Van Gogh.
